WashU and Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance partner to attract and educate highly talented students pursuing their PhD degree program at WashU. The LPDP (Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education) is a scholarship program managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance.  

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to qualified students of Indonesian citizenship admitted to a full-time PhD degree program at WashU in a designated field of study. Preference is given to fields aligned with Indonesia’s national development goals, including but not limited to business, engineering, public health, social work, science, and technology.

Applications

LPDP scholarship applicants are required to apply to the following in parallel:

December 1, 2025 for most PhD programs. (There are some variations by School/Program. Please check with the Program to confirm.) Earlier applications are welcome and recommended.

  • Annual stipend, equal to or above the university-wide minimum PhD stipend rate (currently $37,853 for 2025-2026)
  • Annual health insurance premium subsidy
  • Annual travel allowance during the period of study
  • Settling in allowance according to LPDP’s policies
