Markus Baer is an award-winning scholar and educator in the field of innovation. He is Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. Markus received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has served on the Olin faculty since 2006. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Markus co-founded a consulting start-up in Germany.
Markus studies creativity and innovation and all its related activities — problem formulation, idea generation, idea selection, and idea implementation. His research has been published in leading academic journals and won multiple awards, including the “Olin Award Recognizing Research That Transforms Business.” Markus has also been honored as one of the world’s “Best 40 Business Professors Under 40.”
